Austrian Head of State Van der Bellen makes creative contribution

In the context of the “Inclusion Painting” project he made the final contribution to a painting of the disabled artist Franz Mooshammer. “Inclusion Painting” is a project where a renowned artist, a Special Olympics athlete and a prominent representative of the fields of politics, culture or sport create a work of art together. The message is: “No matter what abilities or skills you are provided with, there is always a way to do something creative together.”

Austria’s new Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen would not miss the chance to personally give one of the project’s paintings the finishing touch. The original work was painted by the disabled artist Franz Mooshammer from Styria who composed it together with Patrick Bubna-Litic, a renowned artist based in the Enns valley. President Van der Bellen welcomed both in Vienna and was able to impressively demonstrate his artistic streak on the occasion of this meeting.

All Special Olympics regions around the world are invited to encourage the creation of works of art for this project and to make them available so that a cross-section of the proficiency and various talents of the entire Special Olympics family can be shown to the general public.

The finished works will be exhibited for the first time during the World Winter Games. Subsequently they will be shown at various international exhibitions. Eventually, the pictures will be auctioned for the benefit of the Special Olympics movement.
